CHIP is a health insurance plan for children under the age of 19. It is for families who earn too much money to qualify for Texas Medicaid programs and cannot afford to buy private insurance.

If you/your child needs emergency services while traveling, go to a nearby hospital and then call us toll-free at 1.888.760.2600. If you/your child needs medical care when out of state, call us at 713.295.2294 or toll-free at 1.888.760.2600, and we will help you find a doctor.
If you/your child needs emergency services when out of state, go to a nearby hospital, then call us at 713.295.2294 or toll-free at 1.888.760.2600. You/your child will need to return to our service area for follow-up care when well enough. We cover care for true emergencies anywhere you/your child go inside the United States. You do not need to call your/your child鈥檚 Perinatal Provider or Primary Care Provider before getting emergency care but do call your/your child鈥檚 Perinatal Provider or Primary Care Provider and our Member Services within 24 hours of the emergency or as soon as possible.
Medical services performed out of the country are not covered by CHIP.

After a person chooses a managed care organization, like 大象视频, to provide their health care, they then choose a Primary Care Provider to give them all their primary care services. Drugs are listed as 鈥減referred鈥� and 鈥渘on-preferred.鈥� If you need a 鈥渘on-preferred鈥� drug, your doctor will need to submit a special request to get the 鈥渘on-preferred鈥� drug by calling Member Services toll-free at 1.888.760.2600.

Have you lost your Medicaid benefits? The Healthy Texas Women Program provides family planning exams, related health screenings, and birth control to women ages 18 to 44 whose household income is at or below the program鈥檚 income limits (185 percent of the federal poverty level).
